Color is the most important art skill to learn and can be the most difficult. Color is also what viewers first react to when looking at your work. I show you a common sense approach to mixing color and share color secrets you can apply immediately. It will be a hands-on class working with YOUR pigments, not prescribed tubes, to facilitate you developing your own palette. You will leave with references and handouts that you can use for the life of your painting career.

Topics to be Covered:

  • Becoming intimate with your tubes of paint;
  • Understanding the important of color bias;
  • Creating beautiful 'mud' colors when you want to;
  • Mixing colorful darks;
  • Learning the magic of the Two-Primary Palette;
  • Mixing greens of all seasons;
  • How to develop your own color palette(s);
  • How to use color in creating depth;
  • .....and lots more.

Test your color knowledge by taking this Color IQ Quiz found on my blog post.

Testimonial:

After studying color theory with several teachers and reading a number of books, finally, the concept of color bias was presented by Carol McIntyre making color theory instantly clear. What a relief! Logic instead of guessing and hoping. Seriously grateful, AEGrasso
